New wheel concept dedicated to the Gravel world

Zipp wanted to create a wheel that was not a classic road wheel that could also be adapted to dirt, but, a rim specifically designed to improve performance on every circuit. They widened the rim channel and created specific covers to ensure that this new rim would be even more efficient.

Zipp 303 XPLR SW

In classic Gravel wheels, the rim had an outer width of 28 to 30 mm, with tires ranging from 40 to 50 mm, creating a significant difference between tire and rim. In this way, the tire's stability was not taken full advantage of.

The new 303 XPLR SWs feature a 32 mm inner channel, with a wider rim profile that avoids pinching the tire at impact. The hookless rim supports a maximum pressure of 3.45 bar and has a high profile of 54 mm, since in gravel racing the recorded speeds are considerably sustained.
Although they look solid and massive they are presented the 303 XPLR Sw have a featherweight of only 1496 grams.

Zipp 303 S XPLR

This model comes with the same technical features as the SW model: 32 mm inner channel, hookless tubeless carbon rim. The most obvious differences are the decals on the rim, which is totally smooth, the 76/176DB hubs, and a slightly higher weight, coming in at 1642 grams.

Goodyear XPLR INTER and SLICK

Along with the new Zipp rims, two tubeless models dedicated to these new rims were also created in collaboration with Goodyear. The models are INTER and SLICK, designed for two different surface situations.

Goodyear INTER

One of the problems with previous gravel wheel models was the rim-cover combo, which did not dampen vibration sufficiently, slowing the rider and increasing fatigue. These new covers fit the rim perfectly, making the ride smoother. The INTER model is dedicated to a mixed course that has parts where more grip is needed. The inner gussets offer smoothness in straight lines, while the side gussets provide perfect grip in corners. M:WALL reinforcements on the rim's side shoulder improve resistance to cutting and pinching, allowing the rider to ride with lower pressures.

Goodyear SLICK

The characteristics of the rim-cover combo are the same as those of the INTER model, providing the most efficient combination of tire and rim for optimum smoothness. The major difference is the tread pattern in the central part, which is practically absent in this model, allowing super smoothness in straight terrain. This tread is perfect for compact terrain in dry conditions. The lateral tessellation still gives excellent grip for cornering.

Zipp SL 70 XPLR

To complete the gravel setup, Zipp has created a new all-carbon fiber handlebar designed to tackle any trail in comfort.

SL 70 XPLR

The Zipp SL 70 XPLR is a premium carbon gravel handlebar designed to match the SRAM RED AXS groupset. Made to tackle any trail, it offers complete functionality and perfect ergonomics. The integrated protrusion hides the brake line and creates ideal hand support. This design allows for a great biomechanical position, ideal for long rides on mixed terrain. The handlebar features a shallow, wide curve to maximize comfort and efficiency, with specific points to easily position SRAM Wireless Blips.
