ALMSTHRE was created by three cyclists from San Diego, CA, whose relentless pursuit of endless adventures has always been in their blood. What is LACTATE 60?
LACTATE 60 is an energy gel developed by Santa Madre for endurance sports. It combines carbohydrates and lactate in a completely liquid formula, designed to be incorporated into nutritional strategies during high-intensity, long-duration exercise.

For a long time, lactate was considered merely a byproduct associated with fatigue. Modern research, however, describes a more complex role for it.
Lactate can be used as an energy source and is involved in the physiological processes that regulate the body's response to high-intensity exercise.

Why use lactate as well?
While glucose and fructose use their own absorption pathways, lactate utilizes an independent pathway via MCT transporters.
This allows you to add a new metabolic source without changing your carbohydrate-based strategy.
Once absorbed, lactate can be used as fuel and contributes to the physiological processes involved in the body’s response during intense exercise.
Born out of research
The development of LACTATE 60 is the result of months of research into the role of lactate in athletic performance and hundreds of hours of testing with athletes.
The nutrition strategy was also developed in collaboration with Yomif Kejelcha during his attempt to break the two-hour barrier in the marathon.

How to Use LACTATE 60
LACTATE 60 was developed to complement nutritional strategies for endurance sports. The recommended dosage depends on the duration and intensity of the activity.
🕒 Activities lasting up to 3 hours
When to Take It
✔ 1 gel right after warming up.
✔ If the activity lasts longer than an hour, take 1 gel every 40 minutes.
🕒 Activities lasting more than 3 hours
For long-duration exercise, it is advisable to follow a nutrition plan tailored to the intensity of the activity and your fitness level.
