ALMSTHRE was created by three cyclists from San Diego, CA, whose relentless pursuit of endless adventures has always been in their blood. They seek to go further, explore more and connect deeply with nature, themselves and others. To feel alive, they believe that one should never stop exploring the unknown. They strive to get out of the comfort zone and always move forward. The art of doing is what motivates and inspires them, while passion is what fuels them. Therefore, when there is no end in sight, they keep pushing forward, because they are ALMSTHRE.
Zipp 202 NSW
No, don't call it a comeback: it's the
reappearance of an icon.

202 NSW
The Zipp 202 NSW was designed with a specific goal in mind: to offer climbers a wheel capable of delivering peak performance on the toughest ascents. Extremely lightweight and responsive, they are the lightest pair ever produced by Zipp, allowing riders to gain speed and efficiency as the road climbs toward the summit.
But their performance isn’t limited to climbing. Their optimized aerodynamics make them effective on approach sections as well, while their design ensures stability and safety on the fastest descents.
At its core lies the same advanced carbon lamination technology used in the top-of-the-line 353 NSW models. The 202 NSW models incorporate Biomimetic Laminate technology, which uses carbon fibers with different moduli to optimize stiffness and strength: greater rigidity at the spoke attachment points and superior strength in the contact area with the tire. This biomechanics-inspired approach replicates the function of tendons for a more efficient response.
The outer fibers are designed to absorb shocks and ensure long-lasting durability, while the high-modulus inner fibers maintain constant spoke tension even under high dynamic loads. The result is a high-performance rim that combines lightness, responsiveness, and reliability.
Weighing less than 1,100 grams for the pair and featuring a 35-mm profile that delivers aerodynamic benefits even on descents, the Zipp 202 NSW wheels offer an advanced solution for riders seeking maximum performance without compromise.
23 mm rim and ZR1 hub
The TSS design of the Zipp 202 NSW features a 23-mm internal channel, a design choice that allows for wider tires and lower pressures. The result is reduced rolling resistance and improved vibration absorption, factors that help conserve energy on climbs and allow for faster, more controlled descents.
The rims are paired with ZR1 SL hubs, engineered in Germany, and assembled with lightweight Alpina Hyperlite spokes in a 20-spoke configuration with a double-cross pattern. The system is completed by GRW ceramic bearings, designed to offer smooth operation and corrosion resistance, and a freehub with 66 engagement points, which ensures immediate and efficient power transmission.
Although designed to excel on long climbs, the 202 NSW wheels represent a significant upgrade for any lightweight road bike. They are the culmination of years of development and innovation, resulting in an ultra-lightweight wheel designed to maximize performance and convert every watt into real speed on the road.
