Beltrami TSA: Teachers at the Bicycle Academy

Our technicians, Luca and Federico , were recently invited as teachers to hold some lessons at the Accademia della Bicicletta , inside the historic Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan , one of the temples of Italian cycling.

During the three days of training, they shared their skills with professionals and students in the sector, alternating theoretical and practical sessions on key topics of mechanical assistance, adjustment and maintenance of the bicycle.

The first topic addressed was transmission maintenance and adjustment , a crucial topic for every specialized technician.
From correct gear calibration to checking the wear of the chain, sprockets and chainrings, participants were able to put advanced techniques into practice, acquiring essential skills to ensure efficiency and precision on any type of bicycle.

Subsequently, the focus shifted to the braking system , with a focus on the different types of brakes: from traditional rim brakes to the most modern hydraulic disc systems. The correct maintenance, adjustment and replacement procedures were illustrated, also addressing real cases and common problems that arise during daily assistance.

Another key moment of the training concerned the world of suspensions , a key component for off-road bicycles and beyond.
Luca and Federico guided the participants in the analysis of latest-generation forks and shock absorbers, examining the technical solutions adopted by the main manufacturers.

The module was designed to combine theory and practice : after an overview of the internal workings of the suspension, we moved on to the operational phase.
Guided step by step, participants were able to disassemble, inspect and reassemble the various components, understanding both the mechanical and hydraulic principles, as well as the correct procedures for effective and safe maintenance.
