This new color scheme is the result of a collaboration between Factor and British designer Paul Smith; the color sections chosen by Paul are inspired by the coloring of past and modern bikes, matte and glossy lacquer finishes that go to create an additional layer of contrast by going to expose the raw carbon areas. Paul Smith with this color scheme wanted to highlight the placement of the carbon fibers.

Paul Smith's iconic design features are integrated throughout the frame. The Black Inc handlebar features the logo running the entire length of the handlebar, the same logo is also on the seatpost; instead, the Paul Smith logo, in an oversize font, is located on the down tube and fork.
Sir Paul Smith's words:
"As a young man I was a cyclist and have remained close to the whole world of cycling," says Paul. "Factor is a company whose technological approach to bicycle production is really impressive, so it is with great pleasure that I customized one of their new bikes. I hope you enjoy it."
Rob Gitelis, CEO of Factor Bikes
"Paul Smith's passion for cycling and racing heritage are no surprise, but working closely with him and his team on this limited-edition project illustrated how deep this passion is rooted in the details and performance DNA. It was especially fitting that the special edition bike made its racing debut at the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium, followed by the Tour de France Saitama Criterium in Japan.
